Breakfast Ninja - 1

A little something different!  It's a short story comic based on my friend Belinda's poem for the next few weeks!  You guys remember Belinda, right?  Well she had a poem, and now it is a comic.  Enjoy!

Darnit.

Hey, all one or two of you who read GD, it turns out that a short run of bad luck (like realizing I'm out of the paper I make these on) and a bunch of migraine headaches (they are brutal) have hampered this week's comic.  Oops?
Seriously, though, my bad. :(
Thanks for understanding,

Jose

No Loitering.

I have been watching Samurai 7, an anime adaptation of Akira Kurosawa's film, The Seven Samurai.  It's one of my favorites, and I really enjoy how they messed with the setting of the story.  Anyway, here is a samurai character who is out of place in the modern world.

A Room With a View.

Hey, guys, it's a sketch! I've been working on getting perspective shots and trying to make backgrounds look better, mostly because I am terrible at those. Also, this is a doodle from a short comic I've been working on!

Seeing it All.

One of my oldest friends was there for this, and to this day, neither of us can remember what we said. All we know is that the world didn't make any sense, but at the same time IT TOTALLY DID. Everyone has or strives for these moments. It's why there's such a market for self-help books, and why horoscopes are followed, and all sorts of other gunk: we want clairvoyance and wisdom. We just have no idea how to get it.
The three dudes in panel 10 are meant to represent Hedonism, Materialism, and Spiritualism, respectively.

THE RETURN.

Hey, guys! So GD is back, and today it is officially 1 YEAR OLD! Sorry about the last two weeks, but really, things got really hectic around here. What with me getting a job (yay!), and Belinda and Eileen moving out of Valhalla (since half of Valhalla's personnel is now gone, we're probably changing the name), and then a big stink I had to deal with because of something from last year, things have just been WAY TOO CHAOTIC for me to regularly update.
Yeah, sometimes real life gets in the way. LAME.
Anyway, GD is back, guys!
Remember, click on the image to make it bigger, and tell your friends that GD is back! Also, thanks for your patience, guys.

Gimme a Second, Guys.

Hey, everybody,

I feel awful for doing this, but I have to delay today's comic because I have a job interview and I just haven't had the time to work on comics lately. I'm sorry, but job-hunting takes up the bulk of my time. I don't do GD for a living (as much as I'd like to), so I do have to prioritise and take care of things that could result in a paycheck before doing this. Sorry, again, guys, and bear with me. I'll get this done soon enough! Wish me luck!

Thanks,
Jose (Who is really sorry he misses posts and stuff. Seriously, thanks for being so patient, you guys. You rule!)

[EDIT:] So the interview didn't happen. Let's just say things get difficult sometimes. Well, to add insult to injury, I also couldn't post the comic tonight. Sarcastic yay. I'll post it on Thursday. I'm sorry. I really am.

Waste Not, Want Not.

I stayed the night with one of my sisters recently, and she said that I could totally have some toast if I was hungry. Since I WAS hungry, I decided to make some toast. Little did I know that the timer on her toaster oven was BROKEN. So my toast, instead of being deliciously golden and warm, was BLACK. I ate some anyway.
The book I was reading is one she owns that has become my new favourite, The Last True Story I'll Ever Tell, by John Crawford, who served a devastating tour of duty in Iraq during the initial 2003 invasion.
Also, if you'll notice, the INKS ARE DIFFERENT! I got a fancy pants new brush pen and some other pens that make inking a LOT EASIER! I love them!

On The Move (EDIT)

I realise, in going through the archive to see what I need to fix, art-wise (there's a lot), that I only have about eleven autobiographical comics, counting this one, and at least six fillers (someone correct me if I'm wrong). How long have I been doing this website? And I've only gotten to eleven comics, over all?
And guess what! There won't be any updates for another week! Lucky you? It's mostly because I am in that nomadic, post-college part of my life, meaning that I will be poor and will also be moving around a lot. At the moment, I'm moving into an apartment with a few friends, who I am also in a band with! We're called the Castle Town Convicts.
So, sadly, General Demeanor will not be updating this week as I will be away from the internet and away from a scanner.
(EDIT: I won't have access to a scanner for a while. The one nearest to me is public, but is pretty much constantly being used, so I'm out of luck there. Sorry, guys! Bear with me, and this terrible site will be back up and running in no time!)

I'm So, So Sorry.

Hey, all two or three of you who read this! General Demeanor will be unable to broadcast this week, but don't worry (unless that's your thing. Then, go for it.)! General Demeanor will be back on the horse next week with all sorts of shenani-goats!
E-mail at generaldemeanor@gmail.com if you feel like yelling at me for being a bad blogger.

So, er, Hi?

Er, hey, persons who may or may not be reading this. I have decided to join the Internet now! It is very shiny here. So, since we're all new here, this is how things are going to go down: this is my blog where I will post my terrible, terrible art. Okay, "art" is too strong a word. We'll call them "doodles." This is where I post doodles and maybe some awful short story comics. If you click on the images, they get bigger. I just learned that.
Update schedule is to be determined, but I'm thinking Tuesdays and Thursdays. If you guys have ideas, write it in the comments (but be nice. Anyone who wants to tell me in which order they commented will be deleted), but Tuesday and Thursday seems to be a good enough update schedule.
As promised, there's a doodle up at the top. I never said they would be good doodles, or that I had any fancy-pants equipment outside of paper, pencils, erasers, and a pen, so no complaining.
That's everything important, so make yourself at home.
