So Javi and I went to run errands, and this happened. Sometimes, I am terrified of the fact that I am trusted with big important things, since I apparently can't even handle pockets or the things you put in pockets.

Seriously, Adulthood is Hard.
So for Christmas, one of my sisters got me a plastic Parasolophus dinosaur. And for that drawing class I had to take a while back, I had to buy a small purple turtle toy with wheels for a project (the project asked for any toy, really, but I picked the cheapest thing I could find at Target). Sometimes, when I'm bored or procrastinating on something I need to do, I make them both fight for my amusement. Being a grown-up is hard sometimes, but this is one of those times where I have only myself to blame.Remember, click on the image to make it bigger!

Argh.
Hey guys. There won't be a comic today because PUBLIC SCANNERS ARE DUMB. NO JOKE, THEY ARE PROBABLY THE DUMBEST. BOOOOOOOOOOO. Sorry about that, guys! :(

Jose Gets INTENSE.
I took a bowling class once in college, but I was never very good. I compensated for this by throwing the ball REALLY REALLY hard. Sometimes, though, this comes at the cost of accuracy, as you see so (poorly) illustrated here. I was bowling with Eileen and one of her really old friends, and they happened to see this moment of shame.Remember, click on the image to make it bigger!

A Poor Understanding of Theology.
I was an English Major in college, and I mostly used Structuralism when I analysed papers. In Structuralism, you work off the assumption that literature operates by tensions, most of which were binary (in that tension was created by two things opposing each other somehow). I guess that I started applying this thought to every other aspect of life, because now I tend to believe that most things have some kind of counterpart. As you can see, though, it is frustrating for my roommates when I start talking about this stuff.Remember, click on the image to make it bigger! And tell your friends about GD!

The Horrors of Curiosity.
Do not go to 4chan. EVER. For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, 4chan is a set of online forums where users can enjoy complete anonymity. There's forum pages about cooking, art, music, robots; you name it, there's a place for it on 4chan. EVERYTHING.And then, there's the "Random" page, or /b/, as it is known. This wasteland of a forum is the worst part of 4chan, displaying the worst of humanity. Trolls thrive here, as do horrible abominations in the eyes of God and Man.
Seriously, 4chan is the worst ever.

The Crippling Fear of Cephalopods.
There's an Interfaith building at my college, and every so often, they'll hold panels where representatives of different faiths will explain their beliefs on some subject or other. Me and my roommate Chris went to one of these with some friends of ours, and topic was "Sex and Religion." It was interesting, and thee was a question-and-answer segment. Someone asked about "auto-stimulation." I heard something TOTALLY DIFFERENT. I thought they were talking about scary creepy tentacled horrors. Thankfully, Chris corrected me. Also, I am creeped out by squid and octopus.Remember, click on the image to make it bigger!

A Proper Greeting.
Belinda finally came back the other day after a month visiting her folks for the holidays. Me and Eileen were the only ones up, so she came in while we were having breakfast. Rather than give her a proper greeting (which you normally do when you see a friend after they've been gone a while), I just opted to say something matter-of-fact. And THEN say hi. I'm a pretty bad friend?Remember, click on the image to make it bigger! Also, tell your friends about GD!

Waste Not, Want Not.
I stayed the night with one of my sisters recently, and she said that I could totally have some toast if I was hungry. Since I WAS hungry, I decided to make some toast. Little did I know that the timer on her toaster oven was BROKEN. So my toast, instead of being deliciously golden and warm, was BLACK. I ate some anyway. The book I was reading is one she owns that has become my new favourite, The Last True Story I'll Ever Tell, by John Crawford, who served a devastating tour of duty in Iraq during the initial 2003 invasion.
Also, if you'll notice, the INKS ARE DIFFERENT! I got a fancy pants new brush pen and some other pens that make inking a LOT EASIER! I love them!

I'm Stubborn. And Dumb.
Argh, sorry this is so late. I've found that juggling two jobs and a comic is REALLY difficult. Anyway, I apparently suck at eating, and Eileen, being the expert wielder of two utensils at once, told me to use a spoon to eat an uncooperative piece of squash. I stubbornly refused, and this pathetic display continued for another minute.Remember, click on the image to make it bigger.

The Un-Coolest

So if you'll remember a few posts back, I'm in a band! We're called the Castletown Convicts. We have a facebook! We also have a myspace! And a channel on the youtubes! We finally played a show with the full band on Saturday, Oct 16th (There's five of us and I'm the newest member), and afterwards, I told Chris (my roommate and the lead guitarist) that a manly chest-bump would be a good idea.
Except it wasn't. As Sabrina (she plays keys, bass, and is on vox sometimes) told us, we keep trying to do that, with the same result. Maybe we'll never learn.
Oh, and these are the people in the band:
Belinda: Rhythm guitar, Vox (She's the one with the Top Hat in this comic)
Sabrina: Keys, Bass, Vox (The tall one with the Jacket)
Chris: Lead Guitar, Vox (He's wearing his classy fedora in this one)
Lyz: Skins (AKA Drums) (Also, she's the shortest one)
Me: Rhythm Guitar, Bass (The dork with the terrible beard)

At the End of the Rainbow.
About the comic, I used a scanner that belongs to one of my roommates, but the problem is that light still got into the scanner, darkening the image. Oh, well. Now I know to weigh it down and block out external light. Don't worry, only this and Thursday's comics will look like this! This is pretty much how the conversation happened. I had been re-reading the Poetic Edda, so Valhalla was an obvious choice. Also, Viking myths are awesome, so there.
Oh, and once I get the OK to introduce my roommates on here, be ready for introductions!

Waiting In Line: The Most Difficult Test

Waiting in line can be a boring experience. That is, until you find that you are standing in some kind of gum minefield made nice and gooey by the sun. The man with the kickin' mustache is my dad.
As far as this page, I'm not all that happy with the third panel.
And thank you guys for your kind wishes about Raul.

Plastic Can Be Uncooperative Sometimes.
While I've been going to community college summer term, I have gotten back into the habit of taking lunch with me. I use an old gas mask bag that was just taking up space, and usually freeze a delicious drink, like tea or water, to put in my lunch. Sometimes, however, I get thirsty, and I end up having to break the ice prematurely. And sometimes, the bottle decides that I don't get to drink my tasty drink. The other person in this comic is a dude I hang out with who easily is a head taller than me.Remember, click on the image to make it bigger.
