Breakfast Ninja-2

Hey, it's the second page of Breakfast Ninja!  So, yeah, I haven't been updating lately, but work got REALLY CRAZY.  Crazy as in, doing-work-at-home-in-addition-to-working-at-work-because-WORK!  But now I finally can get back onto this comic horse!  Here you go, guys!

Breakfast Ninja - 1

A little something different!  It's a short story comic based on my friend Belinda's poem for the next few weeks!  You guys remember Belinda, right?  Well she had a poem, and now it is a comic.  Enjoy!

The Whisky Performance.

On May 23rd, 2011, the Castle Town Convicts played their biggest show to date. It was at the Whisky A Go Go, and for a rock history nerd such as myself, it was kind of a big deal. Actually, it was a big deal for everybody. I think we did alright, though. I mean, they asked us to play again, but because of some big line-up shuffles, we couldn't do it.
Seriously, it was a fun gig. All the other bands we met were really cool, and one of the sound guys, Crash, was super nice to us the whole time.
Also, this was Belinda's last show with us, because she moved away, so we made sure to send her off with a bang.
The lineup here is:
Sabrina: Keys, Vox, Bass
Chris: Lead Guitar, Vox
Belinda: Rhythm Guitar, Vox
Kip: Drums for this show (Sadly, he left because he didn't have time to spare for the band anymore. Thanks for playing with us, Kip. We'll miss you!)
Me: Bass, Rhythm Guitar.

THE RETURN.

Hey, guys! So GD is back, and today it is officially 1 YEAR OLD! Sorry about the last two weeks, but really, things got really hectic around here. What with me getting a job (yay!), and Belinda and Eileen moving out of Valhalla (since half of Valhalla's personnel is now gone, we're probably changing the name), and then a big stink I had to deal with because of something from last year, things have just been WAY TOO CHAOTIC for me to regularly update.
Yeah, sometimes real life gets in the way. LAME.
Anyway, GD is back, guys!

Rumble in the Prehistoric Jungle.

The other day, a bunch of us pals went to Norm's, as we are wont to do when we want to hang out. Zach and Chris were being totally normal one second, then OH MAN SUDDEN DINO-FIGHT UP IN HERE. It was pretty awesome! Probably because dinosaurs are awesome?

OH NO.

Hey, guys! Well, if you'll remember, the CastleTown Convicts played at the Cobalt Cafe on March 19th! What I DIDN'T mention is that we got there in a BADASS GIANT VAN. Sabrina seriously has this big ol' brown van she named Bender (after the dude from Breakfast Club). This van was built specifically with bands in mind.
Upon leaving Chris' mom's house (we paid her a visit), we found out something HORRIBLE. THE BATTERY HAD DIED. With some last ditch effort (and Laurel, Chris, and me nearly being exploded by electricity), we managed to jump-start Bender and play the show.
Fun Fact: I GOT TO RIDE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT THE WHOLE DAY. It's like being in the Millennium Falcon.
Also, sorry about the hit-or-miss nature of GD lately, life has just gotten REALLY hectic in the past few weeks.

Various Transformations.

Hey, it's the Castle Town Convicts! Hey, there's a new face! Our old drummer, Lyz, decided that she didn't have time for a band anymore (she's mega busy doing important things for school), so Kelly was our drummer for a gig we had on Saturday (March 19th) at the Cobalt Cafe. It was fun! There were many horrifying adventures, the best of which shall be recounted for you in the coming weeks.
One thing I noticed, though, is that everyone else in the band gets all jazzed up for our gigs...except me. I'm still in a T-shirt and jeans. This might be a problem?
Thanks Lyz for drumming a bunch, and thanks Kelly (who also can't hang around because of being busy with Important Things) for drumming on such short notice! You guys rock!
In case you forgot, here's the Convicts' personnel:
-Belinda: Vox, Rhythm Guitar. She usually has a classy hat when performing.
-Chris: Lead Guitar, Vox. He also wears classy fedoras onstage.
-Sabrina: Vox, Keys, Bass Slappin'. Easily recognisable because some part of her hair is always dyed.
-Kelly: Skins Slammin' that one time. She is really nice to people.
-Lyz: Skins Slammin' a bunch before she had to leave. Short and played skins really loud.
-Me: Rhythm Guitar, Bass Slappin'. Ornery, probably smelly.

JEFF BRIDGES!

Hey, guys, sorry about the crazy posting (or lack thereof) this week, but job-hunting, crazy schedules, and realising that, despite being barely employed, you don't have time for things, the comic just had to take a backseat to my gunk. I'm really sorry, guys, and I really try not to do this kinda thing to you.
Chris loves True Grit with Jeff Bridges. We're both big fans of his stuff. Belinda is a fan of Jeff Bridges for different reasons.

The Thrill of the Hunt.

I have mentioned that I have two jobs, but I am still barely-employed. The other members of Valhalla sometimes end up finding me at my laptop, looking for work. Belinda hoped that she could calm me down with some sage advice, but, as you can see, it didn't work. Can't blame her for trying, though. :D

The Giant Bowl Party.

My friends Katelyn and Zach had a small Superbowl get-together on Sunday so we could all eat hot wings and watch awesome commercials and maybe accidentally watch the game. It was AWESOME. Katelyn sang a line from that one Katy Perry song, despite the fact that none of us like Katy Perry. It was just fun to annoy Lyz. By the end of the game, however, we were coming to terms with the possibility that we might actually be kinda tired. Boo.

A Proper Greeting.

Belinda finally came back the other day after a month visiting her folks for the holidays. Me and Eileen were the only ones up, so she came in while we were having breakfast. Rather than give her a proper greeting (which you normally do when you see a friend after they've been gone a while), I just opted to say something matter-of-fact. And THEN say hi. I'm a pretty bad friend?

He Wants To Know What Love Is.

So if you guys remember a few posts back, my friends and I got free Ducks tickets from my boss. So me, Chris, Belinda, and our friend Lyz went because, hey, the Mighty Ducks, and if we were lucky, a fight would break out on the ice (It was a hockey game, you see). So we watched the game and actually got to see a fight break out.
AND THEN THE MASCOT CAME.
AND HE KISSED LYZ.
Needless to say, she was horrified and more than a little confused.

Also, which of you guys can find the secret punchline in the comic? I'll give you a hint. It's in the middle of the page!

Man, We're Offensive.

Sorry about the lack of comic on Thursday, guys. I've been really busy lately, and that has stopped me from both keeping up with the comic and drawing enough fillers so that I won't leave you guys hanging should I be unable to draw a proper comic.
So Belinda had spent a semester in Ireland and, given that she talks about it a lot, probably enjoyed herself a whole lot. She has some interesting stories, and as we were going home after grocery shopping, me and Chris got to hear another one. However, the way she was telling this one, I had to ask how much alcohol was involved, and Belinda kindly cleared that up for me. If you are offended and send me hate mail, I'll probably just forward it to her, since she's the one who said it. :D

The Plague Begins.

So Belinda got sick the other day. Then I got sick. Then Chris got sick. Then Laurel, his girlfriend who was visiting that weekend, got sick. Eileen was the only one left standing. Also, sorry this post was late. The original that I was about to scan got ripped, so I had to completely redraw the comic while I was in class. Sorry!

The Worst Kind of Package.

Sorry about the missed update last Thursday! I generally try not to miss an update, but sometimes, life happens.
The other day, Eileen wanted to send her friend a care package, but he said he didn't want candy. Chris, being a veritable encyclopedia of wisdom, decided that there was only one solution: A Problem Package.
A Problem Package is essentially what you send when you don't feel someone should get a care package because they don't want candy in it. So instead of candy and other goodies, you send them a live badger. That'll teach 'em.

The Un-Coolest

So if you'll remember a few posts back, I'm in a band! We're called the Castletown Convicts. We have a facebook! We also have a myspace! And a channel on the youtubes! We finally played a show with the full band on Saturday, Oct 16th (There's five of us and I'm the newest member), and afterwards, I told Chris (my roommate and the lead guitarist) that a manly chest-bump would be a good idea.
Except it wasn't. As Sabrina (she plays keys, bass, and is on vox sometimes) told us, we keep trying to do that, with the same result. Maybe we'll never learn.
Oh, and these are the people in the band:
Belinda: Rhythm guitar, Vox (She's the one with the Top Hat in this comic)
Sabrina: Keys, Bass, Vox (The tall one with the Jacket)
Chris: Lead Guitar, Vox (He's wearing his classy fedora in this one)
Lyz: Skins (AKA Drums) (Also, she's the shortest one)
Me: Rhythm Guitar, Bass (The dork with the terrible beard)

The Party Without a Dungeon Master

If you've ever played Dungeons and Dragons, or at least know a little about creating a character, then this joke will make sense. If the world of Dn'D is alien to you, at least enjoy these little nerdy stat-cards I made to introduce my roommates.
Also, big news! The site has undergone a minor overhaul! There's some new pages about the website, an FAQ page (which is really just a Questions page, since nobody actually asked any questions), a contact page, and some other stuff! Also, I've been debating whether GD should get a twitter. If you want to throw in your two cents, leave a comment or send an e-mail!
[EDIT]: OH GOD, GD HAS A TWITTER THIS IS GOING TO BE TERRIBLE.

The Coolest House.

I live in Valhalla with my roommates. They are awesome. Clockwise, the people in this comic are: Me, Belinda, Eileen, and Chris. They are awesome people to live with.

At the End of the Rainbow.

About the comic, I used a scanner that belongs to one of my roommates, but the problem is that light still got into the scanner, darkening the image. Oh, well. Now I know to weigh it down and block out external light. Don't worry, only this and Thursday's comics will look like this!
This is pretty much how the conversation happened. I had been re-reading the Poetic Edda, so Valhalla was an obvious choice. Also, Viking myths are awesome, so there.
Oh, and once I get the OK to introduce my roommates on here, be ready for introductions!
