Seriously, Adulthood is Hard.

So for Christmas, one of my sisters got me a plastic Parasolophus dinosaur. And for that drawing class I had to take a while back, I had to buy a small purple turtle toy with wheels for a project (the project asked for any toy, really, but I picked the cheapest thing I could find at Target). Sometimes, when I'm bored or procrastinating on something I need to do, I make them both fight for my amusement. Being a grown-up is hard sometimes, but this is one of those times where I have only myself to blame.

So I've been learning a bunch of silly jokes and riddles to entertain kids at work. They dig that sort of thing. My test audience, however, REALLY doesn't care for the jokes. I get that look from Chris pretty regularly, these days.

It Seriously Wasn't Meant to Be. Stop Trying.

So this doesn't actually make sense unless you remember Tuesday's comic, in which I expressed my love of Super Metroid, the greatest video game ever made. You get to play as Samus Aran, a badass bounty hunter lady in a giant suit of armor. She's a breath of fresh air since most other female video game characters tend to wear as little clothing as possible, and instead of filling the "damsel in distress" role, she's the protagonist who is the one shooting all the aliens and saving the galaxy time and time again. Seriously: BEST VIDEO GAME FRANCHISE AND CHARACTER EVER.
Also, the weirdness of today's page was partly Chris' idea. So any questions should be directed at him.

It Wasn't Meant to Be.

Okay, so Super Metroid might be my favourite game ever in the history of video games. Seriously, to me, you can't get better than exploring an ENTIRE PLANET. The world is so crazy vast that it literally took me two years to beat the first time I ever played it (which was eleven years ago). Seriously, best game EVER.

The Potter Premiere.

Something a little different today! Me and my family are going to the Harry Potter premiere (my dad can't go, though)! We're doing a midnight showing. Given that this is the last movie in the series, and I've been a fan since I was twelve, it's something of an end to an era for me. So this comic is an attempt at figuring out why I got so into it.
Also, this comic is another about reconnecting with your childhood. It's been a theme, I guess?

The other day, a bunch of us pals went to Norm's, as we are wont to do when we want to hang out. Zach and Chris were being totally normal one second, then OH MAN SUDDEN DINO-FIGHT UP IN HERE. It was pretty awesome! Probably because dinosaurs are awesome?

The Horrors of Curiosity.

Do not go to 4chan. EVER. For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, 4chan is a set of online forums where users can enjoy complete anonymity. There's forum pages about cooking, art, music, robots; you name it, there's a place for it on 4chan. EVERYTHING.
And then, there's the "Random" page, or /b/, as it is known. This wasteland of a forum is the worst part of 4chan, displaying the worst of humanity. Trolls thrive here, as do horrible abominations in the eyes of God and Man.

So Indie It Hurts (Not Really).

I have a butt-load of music, and while I'm not even close enough to be cool enough to be a hipster, it has been made quite clear to me by other people that my taste in music is "eclectic" at best and "really freaking weird" at worst. I generally have a habit of listening to albums on my Itunes library the whole way through, but every now and then, I'll get a little crazy and put my whole library on "shuffle." One day, this proved to be a mistake. Here's a rundown of how it went that day:

I love all my music, but I just can't switch genres like that one after the other. It's really confusing.

The Closest of Friends

During the holidays, my brother, me, and one of my sisters watched that one movie, The Fantastic Four, on television. I only liked it because Michael Chiklis, who played detective Vic Mackey on The Shield (Hereafter referred to as the BEST SHOW EVER) played Ben Grimm, or The Thing (for you comic book lovers out there). The BEST PART? They actually use the word "mook," because they're in New York, you see? Everyone says "mook" in New York (also, this is patently untrue. I'm making fun of the movie). My brother didn't know what a "mook" was, so I enlightened him.
Also, sorry for the late update today. I had to tape the top part of the paper because after my drawing pad got wet that one time, it tears really easily. Also, it's hard to draw a comic when there is NOWHERE COMFORTABLE in my apartment to draw it. I need a for-realsies drafting table.

The Party Without a Dungeon Master

If you've ever played Dungeons and Dragons, or at least know a little about creating a character, then this joke will make sense. If the world of Dn'D is alien to you, at least enjoy these little nerdy stat-cards I made to introduce my roommates.
Also, big news! The site has undergone a minor overhaul! There's some new pages about the website, an FAQ page (which is really just a Questions page, since nobody actually asked any questions), a contact page, and some other stuff! Also, I've been debating whether GD should get a twitter. If you want to throw in your two cents, leave a comment or send an e-mail!
