Get Back On That Horse.

Man, it has been a while since I've posted a comic, or indeed, even had time to actually sit down to make one.  Seriously, there was a REALLY thick layer of dust on my drawing desk.  These last three weeks at work have been really hectic (I think my roommates have seen me a total of four times in those last few weeks).  Sorry about that!  General Demeanor is definitely not dead!

Seriously, Adulthood is Hard.

So for Christmas, one of my sisters got me a plastic Parasolophus dinosaur. And for that drawing class I had to take a while back, I had to buy a small purple turtle toy with wheels for a project (the project asked for any toy, really, but I picked the cheapest thing I could find at Target). Sometimes, when I'm bored or procrastinating on something I need to do, I make them both fight for my amusement. Being a grown-up is hard sometimes, but this is one of those times where I have only myself to blame.

This Week's Episode.

If we are a TV show, then the writers are real douchebags. Most characters are independently wealthy, and don't have to worry about rent money. And even when they do, they always end up okay. Man, we want to be Television Poor, not REAL LIFE Poor. :(
Also, our two new roommates have moved in and settled, so I will get to making intros for them as soon as I can!

I offer up this batch of comics without explanation. Also, VIKINGS.

OH MANS SORRY FOR THE FILLER GUYS.

Hey, guys, sorry for the terrible filler. I was short on time and didn't have access to my drafting table, so I decided to be all silly n' whatnot and do that bug thing again. He found a girl-bug! I think they're doing fine.

Where The Hell Have The Comics Been?

Hey, guys! Happy 2011! Also, the COMICS ARE BACK! Yeah, if you read the last two posts, you can kinda gather what happened, but this is just a quick explanation that summarises everything that knocked me (and by extension, this comic) flat on my ass. My car had been parked and apparently, some drunk people smashed into it rounding a corner, and I found it when it was raining REALLY HARD. That day, the drawing pad I make these comics on, were in my bag, and they got wet. I spent the time off testing the pages once they dried to see if they can hold up to ink, and it looks like they can (I tested, like, a bzillion pages).
Well, the important thing is that this comic is back! Yay! Let's hope that 2011 turns out better than 2010, because honestly, 2010 sucked.

Guess Who Has REALLY Shitty Luck.

Me. The guy who draws this comic and stuff. I have the shitty luck. Turns out some drunk dude totalled my car while it was parked on the street one night, and then he ran off like a pussy. So, it's gone. Like, forever. Not only that, but given the amount of rain, guess whose comic archives GOT WET. Again, me. It's me. I'm the one whose archives got wet. And the pad of paper that I draw the comics on got wet, too. Either I have to wait for it to dry, or I just have to get a whole new pad of drawing paper, depending on how it holds up ink after drying up. So until then, GD is down for the count. Sorry, guys, I've just had a really bad run of luck lately. Hopefully, the comic will be back up soon, but I have to lay out the archives and the pad of paper to dry. They are currently strewn on the couch in my apartment.

Sorry, Guys. Filler.

Hey guys. Sorry for the lack of comic. José has been busy doing other drawings that actually count for a grade. BOOOOO! Also, sorry for the lateness of this one. José meant to scan this one way earlier in the day. However, the person to whom he entrusted the scanning of said picture got lost in that dimension where everything is monkeys and typewriters NOT ending up with Shakespeare for about four hours. Oops. Anyway, I'm sure he'll edit out the weirdness of this post later when he tags it. Bye, loyal readers! José will be back soon!
[EDIT]: Today's news-post was written by my roommate, Eileen, who went to the trouble of posting this for you guys on time. YAY!

It Just Won't End Well.

So, I didn't ink this one very well. I won't point out the flaws because you can probably see them yourself.
My sister's friend, Torres, is a cool guy. He's a bit of a bro, but he is very aware of it. However, being that I am a bit of a dork, he has apparently expressed the wish to take me out and make me cool. I'm pretty sure it will be a colossal failure.

The Un-Coolest

So if you'll remember a few posts back, I'm in a band! We're called the Castletown Convicts. We have a facebook! We also have a myspace! And a channel on the youtubes! We finally played a show with the full band on Saturday, Oct 16th (There's five of us and I'm the newest member), and afterwards, I told Chris (my roommate and the lead guitarist) that a manly chest-bump would be a good idea.
Except it wasn't. As Sabrina (she plays keys, bass, and is on vox sometimes) told us, we keep trying to do that, with the same result. Maybe we'll never learn.
Oh, and these are the people in the band:
Belinda: Rhythm guitar, Vox (She's the one with the Top Hat in this comic)
Sabrina: Keys, Bass, Vox (The tall one with the Jacket)
Chris: Lead Guitar, Vox (He's wearing his classy fedora in this one)
Lyz: Skins (AKA Drums) (Also, she's the shortest one)
Me: Rhythm Guitar, Bass (The dork with the terrible beard)

The Most Boringest

HEY! LOOK! It's an update! For you! Yeah! Think of it as a present that you really don't want, but your kindly grandmother gave it to you anyway, so you have to like it, but then you throw it in the back of the closet and forget about it until you're 30 and then you feel bad for hating the present because your grandma died. Yeah, exactly like that.
Interestingly enough, this comic technically represents an event that happened about a year ago. I just thought it was kinda funny and worth putting on the site. It was when I still worked at a high school (which I don't work at anymore because I graduated college).
Oh, and I think I mentioned that I'm in a band (or, I show up to a real band's rehearsals and they don't have the heart to kick me out)! We're called the Castle Town Convicts! We've got a myspace, a facebook page, and we've begun putting short video of our rehearsals on the youtubes. If you're wondering, I'm the dude in the Terrible Army Jacket That I Always Wear. I wear it so much that I often draw myself wearing it.

She Just Hates You So Much.

I've always thought of Emily Dickinson as a hipster who mistook nonsense for profundity. Some people like her, and that's cool, but I have always found her work to be nigh impossible to follow, mostly because there is almost nothing in it save for cryptic references to things she never mentions. She's basically David Foster Wallace, but without being good at her job.

Man Why Is There Another Filler This Is Dumb.

So, I'm really sorry about this terrible filler, but I didn't have the time to do a proper comic. If you want to send me angry letters, do so at generaldemeanor@gmail.com, and I'll apologise profusely, because this filler is dumb.

Pixelated Wussiness.

I played DOOM first when I was about 12, and thought it was awesome, though terrifying. Demons are just everywhere, they hunt you down relentlessly, and it feels like no matter what, you'll finish the game cold, alone, and paranoid looking down darkened hallways knowing that cruel and unfeeling claws await to pull you to a tortuous death.
What I am saying is that I'm a grown man and I'm still scared when I play this game, even in broad daylight.

A Rollicking Social Life.

I'm a huge reading dork (and will soon have the English degree to prove it), so I figured it would be a good idea to remember some of the personal records I've set as far as reading stuff goes. This comic also reminded me that I haven't found my old copy of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea in more than five years.

Jose Can't Do Anything Right, Including Blogs

Argh, I know it's just a bunch of stupid doodles. It's been a busy week, so rather than pull it together and draw a proper comic, here's a bunch of doodles that I made during most of my classes on a notepad.
